First Day of ASN WFH, Bogor Station Remains Busy, Dominated by Private Sector Workers
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - On the first day of implementing the work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) every Friday, conditions at Bogor Station remained busy as usual. Kompas.com observations at the station entrance on Friday (10/4/2026) at 07.25 WIB showed a continuous flow of passengers. Some passengers were seen running upon hearing announcements that the train was about to depart. Heading to the platform area, passengers stood in queues waiting for the train’s arrival. Meanwhile, inside the KRL carriages stopped at tracks 2 and 6, the conditions appeared already full with passengers. In the food and beverage stalls area, several passengers were seen buying coffee or breakfast before continuing their journey to Jakarta. One passenger, Mufalaq (53), stated that there was no significant difference in station density due to the ASN WFH policy of one day per week. According to the private sector employee, if WFH were also implemented in the private sector on a rotational basis, the impact would be more pronounced. Besides saving fuel (BBM), road and station conditions could also be slightly less congested. “Perhaps if ASN WFH one day, the impact isn’t yet very noticeable for us who still have to go to the office every day. If done together, the roads would immediately be quieter, and fuel wouldn’t be wasted,” he said. “At the office, there’s no WFH, it’s normal as usual. So the commute also follows the usual KRL schedule,” said Idham. He also assessed that if WFH is only applied in the government sector, the impact on fuel savings would not yet be optimal. “Because in my opinion, the majority are private sector workers who still have to go to the office every day,” he said. Nevertheless, he also understood that implementing WFH in the private sector is not easy.
