JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Irfan Yusuf (Gus Irfan), revealed that the departure of the first batch of Hajj pilgrims for 1447 Hijriah, or this year, is planned to begin in April 2026.

“The departure of the first batch of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims is planned to start on 22 April 2026,” said Gus Irfan during the Hajj ritual training event in Blitar City held at Ar Rahman Mosque, Blitar City, East Java, quoted from a press release, Friday (27/3/2026).

“Accommodation in Mecca and Medina, meal services, transportation, and pilgrim equipment have been prepared,” he stated.

The Ministry of Hajj has collaborated with Saudi partnership entities to ensure the quality of services for Hajj pilgrims during their stay in the Holy Land.

“Distribution of the Nusuk cards that pilgrims will receive at the embarkation point,” said Gus Irfan.

According to him, the opportunity to perform the Hajj is a special calling that not everyone receives.

“You are fortunate individuals. This ritual training serves as important preparation so that the worship can be carried out correctly, with discipline, and in full solidarity,” he explained.

“In line with the mandate of Law No. 14 of 2025, the organisation of Hajj aims to provide guidance, services, and protection so that pilgrims can perform their worship in accordance with Sharia,” he said.

He emphasised that President Prabowo Subianto established the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to deliver more focused and integrated Hajj services.

“This ministry exists to ensure pilgrim-centred services, from preparation, implementation, to return to the homeland,” added Gus Irfan.
