Fire destroys shops, bank

JAKARTA (JP): Fire destroyed five shops and a bank in a three- story building last night on Jl. Arjuna, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.

Eye witnesses said that a BCA bank office in the complex was damaged.

There was speculation that the fire had been caused from a short circuit, but local police said the fire was still being investigated.

No deaths were reported. Financial losses resulting from the blaze are not yet unknown. (sur)
