Financial Solutions Platform Reaches 250,000 Indonesian SMEs, Promoting Inclusivity
Jakarta - BukuWarung, a platform providing financial solutions for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), states that its BukuAgen financial service has reached more than 250,000 business actors throughout Indonesia. Director of Sales at BukuWarung, Adi Harlim, said that MSMEs play an important role in accelerating financial inclusion, especially in areas far from city centres. “MSMEs are the backbone of the Indonesian economy, contributing more than 60 percent to GDP and absorbing around 97 percent of the national workforce,” said Adi based on his statement in Jakarta on Saturday. He mentioned that BukuWarung is working to speed up the circulation of money at the community level by empowering business actors to provide more easily accessible financial services to the public. According to him, Eastern Indonesia is the region with the fastest growth in the use of BukuAgen services compared to other areas. Throughout 2025, BukuAgen helped more than 250,000 MSMEs record more than 61 million transactions with a value reaching Rp41.1 trillion. In addition, the total income of business actors joined as BukuAgen agents was recorded to exceed Rp500 billion. “These figures not only reflect the platform’s growth but also serve as proof that MSMEs have a real role as accelerators of financial inclusion in Indonesia,” said Adi. During the event, BukuWarung also provided education on transaction security to merchants, including account protection, identification of potential fraud, and the implementation of safe transaction practices. Brand and Community Manager at BukuWarung, Riyan Prayugo, said that transaction security is an important foundation in building sustainable businesses. “Secure transactions will drive business growth while providing comfort to merchants in transacting,” said Riyan. In addition to the BukuAgen service, BukuWarung also provides BukuModal and BukuSimpan services to support the financing ecosystem and cash flow management for MSMEs. Head of Region Eastern Indonesia Merchant Success at BukuWarung, Tommy Setiawan, said that BukuSimpan was introduced to help business actors manage cash flow in a more structured and integrated manner. Through BukuSimpan, business actors can utilise services without monthly administrative fees, interest up to 3 percent per year, and more efficient transfer fees. BukuWarung also introduced the Laskar Agen Juara community as a forum for collaboration and development for merchants, particularly in South Sulawesi and Central Sulawesi.
