Jakarta – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) has partnered with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) to accelerate economic recovery for communities affected by flooding in Aceh Tamiang district through the distribution of business capital assistance and essential goods packages to 50 creative economy entrepreneurs.

The assistance programme, titled “Business Literacy for Creative Economy in Post-Disaster Recovery,” represents the government’s direct intervention to support disaster-affected communities in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive, particularly for Aceh.

Acting on this directive, Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, travelled to Aceh Tamiang to extend condolences over the flooding disaster, which has reached unprecedented levels.

As part of post-disaster economic recovery efforts, business capital assistance totalling 125 million rupiah for 50 creative economy entrepreneurs and essential goods packages were symbolically presented by Deputy Cecep Rukendi and his team, alongside BSI’s Area Micro & Pawning Manager Jasrun.

The programme aims to equip creative economy entrepreneurs with financial management skills, strengthen business management capabilities, and provide access to financing. The initiative is expected to help entrepreneurs resume production activities and accelerate local economic recovery following the disaster.

“The Ministry of Creative Economy has provided considerable attention to Aceh, including motivational support and equipment such as stoves for culinary entrepreneurs previously. Following this flooding, the ministry has returned with motivation and funding,” said Farij.

He also appreciated BSI’s role and expressed hope that such empowerment activities and stimulus measures will continue in the coming years to revitalise Aceh Tamiang’s economy, including through expanded access to people’s business credit (KUR).

“BSI’s commitment has been proactive in supporting customers since the flooding on 26 November, and the bank has provided relief through payment deferrals of three months through January, adjusted to each customer’s circumstances,” said Jasrun.

He added that BSI will evaluate this policy and is prepared to extend the deferral period if necessary to reduce customers’ monthly payment burdens. This relief is intended to give entrepreneurs space to develop new strategies and recover.

The distribution of assistance represents strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Bank Syariah Indonesia, expected to serve as initial stimulus to restart production activities for creative economy entrepreneurs in Aceh Tamiang following the disaster.
