Fences-free on Jl. Thamrin
Fences-free on Jl. Thamrin
From Media Indonesia
As a lover of open spaces in beautiful settings, I
emphatically support the Jakarta Administration's policy of
making the Jalan Thamrin area free from fences.
I can imagine that the area will become even more impressive
after eliminating the obstruction the fences cause, becoming
similar to the Orchard Road shopping centers in Singapore.
Pedestrians will not feel isolated any more because they will
have more space to move around in.
The greening of the Jalan Thamrin area will create harmony
within the concrete jungle of high-rise buildings.
It is hoped that other areas will be transformed accordingly,
with the Jalan Thamrin area serving as a model.
On the other hand, do not apply the policy of eliminating
fences to residential areas, otherwise more security measures
will be required.
Buildings are guarded 24 hours a day. And homes? Not everyone
can afford to employ a security guard.
We won't have to if the government can enforce discipline in
the community, in order to protect people from theft and robbery.
