As a lover of open spaces in beautiful settings, I
\nemphatically support the Jakarta Administration's policy of
\nmaking the Jalan Thamrin area free from fences.<\/p>\n
I can imagine that the area will become even more impressive
\nafter eliminating the obstruction the fences cause, becoming
\nsimilar to the Orchard Road shopping centers in Singapore.<\/p>\n
Pedestrians will not feel isolated any more because they will
\nhave more space to move around in.<\/p>\n
The greening of the Jalan Thamrin area will create harmony
\nwithin the concrete jungle of high-rise buildings.<\/p>\n
It is hoped that other areas will be transformed accordingly,
\nwith the Jalan Thamrin area serving as a model.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, do not apply the policy of eliminating
\nfences to residential areas, otherwise more security measures
\nwill be required.<\/p>\n
Buildings are guarded 24 hours a day. And homes? Not everyone
\ncan afford to employ a security guard.<\/p>\n
We won't have to if the government can enforce discipline in
\nthe community, in order to protect people from theft and robbery.<\/p>\n
