A female police officer (polwan) with the initials Brigadir YM was reported to have stolen 1.1 million rupiah from a salon customer on Jalan Ba’a-Busalangga, Mokdale District, Lobalain Subdistrict, Rote Ndao, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Friday (6 March 2026). The customer who lost the money was named Sabrina Ana Flora.

The case emerged after the victim filed a complaint through the Internal Affairs Service (Propam) complaint system of Rote Ndao Police Precinct.

“The officer in question was assigned to the Custody and Evidence Unit (Sattahti) of Rote Ndao Police Precinct. We have summoned both the officer and the victim for clarification,” said Rote Ndao Police Chief AKBP Mardiono to detikBali on Sunday (8 March 2026).

The Theft Occurred While the Victim Was in the Toilet

Mardiono explained that the incident began when YM and Sabrina were both queuing at a salon owned by Anggi Mandala. Whilst waiting for her turn, Sabrina left her handbag containing the money on a chair as she needed to use the toilet. Upon returning, Sabrina proceeded with an eyebrow tattooing treatment.

However, when preparing to pay for the service, Sabrina discovered that the money in her handbag had disappeared.

Victim Suspects the Female Police Officer

Sabrina then suspected YM of committing the theft. She subsequently filed a complaint through the Propam Precision complaint service of Rote Ndao Police Precinct.

Following up on the report, members of the Community Response Unit (Pamapta) of Rote Ndao Police Precinct, led by Ipda Maximus Lona, immediately visited the scene. YM and Sabrina were then brought to Rote Ndao Police Precinct for clarification in the Internal Affairs Service office.

“At that time, the victim also filed a report through the QR code Internal Affairs Service complaint system,” explained Mardiono.

Female Police Officer Admits to Taking the Customer’s Money

According to Mardiono, during the clarification process, YM eventually confessed to her actions. The money taken from the victim was subsequently seized as evidence.

Nevertheless, YM has not yet been detained as Rote Ndao Police Precinct is still awaiting instructions from the Provincial Police Internal Affairs Division regarding how to handle the case.

“She has not been detained because the complaint came through the QR code police Internal Affairs Service system. The provincial police will provide guidance on whether this constitutes a disciplinary or ethics code violation. The Rote Ndao Internal Affairs Service is currently seeking clarification from the relevant parties. We remain committed to transparent handling in accordance with applicable regulations,” explained Mardiono.
