Father rapes young daughter

JAKARTA (JP): Police arrested a man Thursday for allegedly
raping his 11-year-old daughter at his house in Ciputat,
Tangerang, some 25 kilometers south of here.

South Jakarta Police Detective Rycko A. Dahniel said Thursday
that they arrested Teguh Krisdianto, 36, after the girl and her
aunt reported the rape.

"We are still questioning him," Rycko said.

The girl, identified only as AR, a sixth-grade elementary
student, told her aunt that her father raped her twice, once in
the bathroom and then in a bedroom.

"I told my mother he raped me, but she did nothing because she
is afraid of my father. He said he would beat me if I told anyone
he raped me," she said in tears.

The girl ran away from home Wednesday, to her aunt in the
Kebayoran Lama area, South Jakarta.

AR's aunt, Yusnita, reported the rape to the South Jakarta
Police precinct Wednesday. Thursday AR went with her to the
precinct for questioning.

The suspect works at a garage on Jl. Raya Ciputat. AR is his
