Family of Little Aresha Daycare Victims Requests LPSK Assistance and Seeks Restitution for Justice
The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) met with several parents of victims in the Little Aresha Daycare abuse case during a meeting at the LPSK Yogyakarta Representative Office on Wednesday (29/4/2026). This meeting followed up on requests for protection, assistance, and the submission of restitution rights by the victims’ families. These demands serve as efforts towards justice and recovery for their children who became victims in the case that has drawn public attention. A representative of the victims’ parents, Huri (32 years old), stated that they came to LPSK to request comprehensive assistance, both legally and psychologically, while also pushing for the restitution process against the suspects. “The restitution we are submitting is not merely for rights and our child’s recovery, but the greater goal is to impoverish the perpetrator through this restitution process,” she said. Huri emphasised that the restitution submission is also intended to provide maximum deterrent effects to the perpetrators. Even if the perpetrators are unable to pay, it is hoped that this will aggravate the punishment in the judicial process. “Even if this restitution is possibly not granted later, at least if they are unable to pay, it can aggravate the perpetrator’s punishment,” Huri explained. “What we are pursuing is to ensure the legal process runs as fairly and maximally as possible, by pushing all potential legal consequences that we can for the suspects,” she added. Following the meeting, LPSK stated that it would review the requests submitted by the victims while providing intensive assistance. The agency will also coordinate with various parties given the considerable number of victims.
