Fallen elevator kills five in RP

MANILA (AFP): Five construction workers plunged to their deaths here yesterday after a service elevator fell seven stories at a building site in the Makati financial district, a hospital official said.

"According to the ones who brought the patients in here, these construction workers were aboard a service elevator and it fell from the seventh floor down to the ground," Makati Medical Center doctor Gabriel Gabriel said.

"All of them were dead on arrival. They suffered severe head injuries," Gabriel said over radio station DZMM.
