Expats entertained

The rousing cheers that erupted from the mostly expatriate
audience on Dec. 27, 1994 night were well deserved. The Jakarta
Players presented "Guys and Dolls" this past weekend and it was a
fabulous first-class performance. Congratulations to the entire
cast and crew. The many hours spent rehearsing were well worth it
to the audience.

The previous weekend I had the opportunity to attend the
Madrigal/dinner presented by the Jakarta International School
"Joint Sound" choral group. The costume and dress of the
Renaissance era was very authentic and the well trained youthful
voices were magical. It was probably the most memorable cultural
evening I have experienced in my years in Jakarta.

My hat is off to all the local talented people in Jakarta who
share their time and talent so that others may be entertained. It
is greatly appreciated.
