The Lebaran exodus for 2026 has become apparent since the first day of Operation Ketupat implementation. PT Jasa Marga recorded approximately 14 per cent of vehicles departing Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Jasa Marga Chief Executive Officer Rivan A. Purwantoro stated that this figure equates to roughly 285,000 vehicles out of a total projection of 3.5 million vehicles estimated to leave Jakarta during the Lebaran exodus period.

“From Jasa Marga’s projection regarding the number of vehicles that have already departed Jakarta, it stands at 14 per cent. Of course, this remains uncontrolled, without traffic management interventions,” said Rivan at Jasa Marga’s JTMC Building in Bekasi, West Java, on Saturday morning.

Based on preliminary monitoring, vehicles departing Jakarta are predominantly heading towards the Trans Java Toll Route. Meanwhile, traffic flow towards other areas such as Bandung has not yet demonstrated significant increases.

He added that his team will continue monitoring vehicle movements in the coming days, as the potential for increased exodus traffic remains possible, particularly over the weekend.

“There is still a possibility that on Saturday and Sunday, further vehicle movements will occur,” he noted.

Previously, Purwantoro indicated that approximately 3.5 million vehicles are estimated to depart Jakarta via toll roads during this year’s Lebaran exodus period.

Peak exodus traffic is predicted to occur on 18 March 2026. Nevertheless, vehicle movements have already become apparent since Friday, 13 March.

From the total projection, vehicle distribution is expected to be divided across several destinations.

With increased vehicle movements approaching Lebaran, the public is advised to plan their journeys carefully and monitor traffic conditions to ensure that the exodus remains safe and smooth.
