Exhibition on games for children

JAKARTA (JP): An exhibition on games and rides for children will open June 6 at the Jakarta Convention Center. The event, which runs until June 8, will be opened by Director General of Tourism Andi Mappisammeng.

Fourteen countries have announced their participation, according to organizer Rachmat Sutiono, director of PT Funworld Prima.

Among participating countries, he said, were Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, the United States, and South Korea.

Rachmat said business in game centers has increased from around 100 centers around the country three years ago, to 300 centers in Jakarta alone. The country has around 1,000 game centers, he said.

Scheduled displays, he said, include a merry-go-round, interactive games, trains and bowling games. (anr)
