Exhausted Travellers Urged to Rest at Service Areas, Not Road Verges
BANDUNG — The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the West Java Regional Police has urged homebound travellers undertaking the Lebaran 1447 Hijriyah journey to rest at service areas when experiencing fatigue. The directorate has also requested that travellers avoid resting on road verges due to the potential accident risk.
“To travellers passing through West Java’s territory, if you begin to feel tired or drowsy whilst driving, do not force yourselves to continue. Immediately pull over and rest at the nearest service area,” said Kombes Pol Raydian Kokrosono, Head of the Traffic Directorate of the West Java Regional Police, on Sunday (15 March 2026).
He noted that travellers could also rest at security posts, service stations, and integrated posts of Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026 that the West Java Regional Police has prepared. The Directorate reminded travellers not to stop on road verges as this is extremely dangerous.
“We also caution you not to stop on road verges as it is very dangerous and can result in traffic accidents. Road verges are not resting places,” Raydian stated.
He further reminded travellers to prioritise safety rather than speed. Raydian expressed hope that travellers’ journeys would proceed safely and that they would reach their hometowns with joy.
