SOLO — A mudik cost calculation for using the Jaecoo J5 EV electric vehicle covers tolls and charging. Notably, the claimed driving range of the vehicle is about 400–470 kilometres, while the Jakarta–Semarang route is around 450 kilometres. The electric sport utility vehicle measures 4,380 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, 1,650 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm. Approach angle 20 degrees and departure angle 30 degrees are provided to support a variety of road conditions. The suspension uses a MacPherson strut at the front and a multi-link at the rear. The car accelerates from rest to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. The claimed electricity consumption is 16.6 kWh per 100 kilometres, or 6 kilometres per kWh. In WLTC testing, the car can cover 400 or 470 kilometres with the NEDC test. Fast charging is available, and the battery can be charged from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in 27 minutes. Based on MID data during testing, the car travelled 91.5 kilometres at an average speed of 14 km/h, with a travel time of 1 hour and 1 minute, and energy consumption recorded at 169 Wh per kilometre. At this rate, 1 kWh can cover about 5.9 kilometres. Using this average consumption, the mudik cost for the Jakarta–Semarang route using the Jaecoo J5 EV can be calculated as follows. Current data show there are 53 rest areas on the Trans-Java toll road equipped with SPKLU charging facilities of various power capacities, from alternating current (AC) charging to direct current (DC) fast charging. The household electricity tariff for non-subsidised electricity is currently around Rp 1,400–1,700 per kWh, and SPKLU DC fast charging tariffs, such as PLN and Voltron, are around Rp 2,466.74 per kWh. Assuming electricity price of Rp 2,500 per kWh, the total for a single trip would be Rp 191,000 to Rp 304,500 for two full charges. The route traverses main tolled sections such as Jakarta–Cikampek, Cipali, and Batang–Semarang, with an estimated Class I toll of around Rp 421,500. Therefore, the total cost of toll and electricity becomes Rp 612,500 to Rp 726,000, excluding other costs such as meals, SPKLU service charges, and accommodation.
