Erwin Ko's Network Not Yet Dismantled: Two Associates Become Wanted Fugitives as Police Search Across NTB and Kalimantan
Jakarta – The Directorate of Narcotics Crime at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters (Bareskrim Polri) continues to systematically dismantle the drug trafficking network operated by narcotics kingpin Erwin Iskandar, known as Ko Erwin. Following the arrest of the network’s leader whilst attempting to flee overseas, police are now pursuing his remaining associates still at large.
The Directorate of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri has identified two subordinates of Ko Erwin who are now classified as wanted fugitives (DPO). They are identified as A Hamid, also known as Boy, and Satriawan, also known as Awan.
Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of the Narcotics Crime Directorate at Bareskrim Polri, stated that a joint task force is currently conducting intensive pursuit of the two fugitives.
“A joint team from our subdivision and the National Intelligence Coordination Task Force is currently intensively searching for and pursuing the wanted suspects A Hamid alias Boy and wanted suspect Satriawan alias Awan,” he said on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
In efforts to restrict the fugitives’ movement, police have deployed cross-jurisdictional coordination efforts. The search involves police units from provincial police headquarters down to district police stations.
“Operations are being conducted across the Greater Jakarta area, NTB, Kalimantan, and North Sumatra,” he said.
According to Eko, these regions have become the focus of the search to prevent the two fugitives from fleeing overseas through illegal routes. This approach reflects the strategy previously employed by Ko Erwin before his eventual arrest.
“We anticipate the fugitives may attempt to escape the country through illegal channels in the Kalimantan and North Sumatra regions, based on the escape routes used by suspect Ko Erwin,” he said.
Previously, investigations into the drug trafficking network involving Erwin Iskandar alias Ko Erwin continued to develop. Bareskrim Polri’s investigative team moved swiftly and arrested two individuals suspected of being key links in the illegal operation.
The two suspects are Charles Bernando and Arfan Yulias Lauw. Both were apprehended in Teluk Naga, Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday, 28 February 2026. Charles served as the intermediary between Ko Erwin and Arfan, whilst Arfan is suspected of supplying methamphetamine to Ko Erwin.
“The operational team from our subdivision conducted follow-up investigations based on the initial examination of suspect Erwin Iskandar. The suspect had conducted a transaction involving methamphetamine purchased from Charlie,” said Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of the Narcotics Crime Directorate at Bareskrim Polri, on Monday, 2 March 2026.
