Ermanto Usman Murdered: Son Says Father Wanted to Uncover the Truth
Bekasi, KOMPAS.com – Ermanto Usman (65), the man who died in a murder case in Jatibening, Pondok Gede, Bekasi City, on Monday (2 March 2026), was known as a figure who vocally advocated for workers’ issues during his active career.
During his career at Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), a Pelindo subsidiary, Ermanto served as HRD Manager and as chairman of the JICT retirees association.
He frequently spoke on various issues, including alleged corruption at the company.
‘My father is trying to uncover the truth and prioritise all the people on the ground who are struggling,’ Putra told reporters on Tuesday (3 March 2026).
In recent months, Putra said, his father actively expressed his views through several podcasts.
According to him, the activity carried risks because it concerned the interests of workers on the ground.
‘What my father did is something we all know what the risks are,’ he added.
He had retired from JICT nine years ago.
‘Because in our view this relates more to a murder case,’ he stressed.
Nevertheless, he emphasised the family remains awaiting the results of law enforcement investigations.
Earlier reports said Ermanto and his wife, Pasmilawati (60), were suspected victims of a robbery accompanied by violence that ended in death on Monday (2 March 2026).
The head of the Bekasi City Metro Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit, Comm. Andi Muhammad Iqbal, said the initial suspicion pointed to a robbery, although the exact motive is still under investigation.
‘Still under investigation; we cannot conclude at this time,’ Andi said at the scene on Monday.
Initial medical examinations showed both had injuries from blunt-force trauma to the back of the head.
Currently, the investigation involves personnel from the Pondok Gede Police Sector, Bekasi City Metro Police, and the Jatanras of the Metro Jaya Regional Police to uncover the perpetrators and motive in the case.
