Ermanto Usman Found Dead in His Bekasi Home Was a JICT Retiree
Bekasi – Ermanto Usman (65), a man found dead in his home at Prima Lingkar Asri Residence, Jatibening Village, Pondok Gede District, Bekasi City, was a retiree from PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), a subsidiary of Pelindo.
Ermanto’s eldest son, Fiandy A Putra (33), stated that his father retired nine years ago.
“My father retired nine years ago from PT JICT, a subsidiary of Pelindo,” Putra told media on Tuesday (3 March 2026).
During his employment, Ermanto was known to be active as a labour union member at the container terminal company. He was also recorded as Chairman of the JICT Retirees Association.
“Recently, my father was active and enthusiastic about creating a podcast. He was part of the labour union during his time at JICT. That could be considered activism,” said Putra.
Putra believed his father’s activities were risky because they related to workers’ interests in the field.
“What my father did is something we all knew the risks of,” he continued.
Though unaware of the specific details of his father’s activities, Putra was convinced that what happened to both his parents was not a straightforward robbery. He suspected his father was murdered.
Regarding the brutal incident affecting his family, Putra demanded justice from Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto, requesting a thorough investigation of the case.
“We as a family appeal for justice from Mr. President, hoping that the case of our father can be resolved and reveal who the perpetrator is. Because in our view, this points more towards a murder case,” said Putra.
Nevertheless, he emphasised that the family would await the results of the law enforcement investigation.
“But we await clarification directly from the police, the competent authorities. And we will follow the legal process that exists in Indonesia,” he said.
Putra admitted he did not know whether his parents had received threats before the incident. He stated that his father never discussed any problems with the family.
He also highlighted the condition of the second floor of the house, which was reported to be sterile when examined by police. His sister, Dinda Nada Alifah, was sleeping in a second-floor bedroom at the time of the incident.
