Erlazet Ramadan Festival Serves as Skills Development Forum for Orphans
Jakarta – Erlazet Charity (ERLA Global Charity Foundation) held the ER FEST (Erlazet Ramadan Festival) under the theme “Achieving a Thousand Nights of Celebration, Celebrating Ramadan through Good Works” at the Erlazet Charity headquarters in Duren Sawit, Jakarta, on Saturday, 7 March 2026. The event served as a special platform for orphans in the charity’s care to develop skills whilst deepening Islamic values during the holy month of Ramadan.
The festival featured a diverse range of programmes, including Ramadan Presentation Design and Creative Ramadan workshops for soft skills development, culminating in GAMELAN (Achieving a Thousand Nights) as a commemoration of Nuzulul Qur’an.
In his opening remarks, Rafi Sina Almadani, Deputy Chairperson of Erlazet Charity, explained that the programme formed part of the broader Erlazet Ramadan Sharing Initiative. He expressed hope that this activity, which integrates skill-building with Islamic values, could continue to expand in the future.
“We are presenting ER Fest as a platform to foster creativity and spiritual values for all participants present. We hope this programme will continue to develop and become an even greater platform in the future,” said Almadani at the Erlazet Charity headquarters.
He also hoped that, timed with the Nuzulul Qur’an commemoration on the 17th of Ramadan, the event would motivate the orphans to remain disciplined, maintain ethical standards, and improve the quality of their worship throughout the ER FEST programme.
Following the formal opening, the festival continued with enthusiastic participation from attendees across three main programme segments.
The first segment, Ramadan Presentation Design, provided an interactive learning environment where participants were taught visual communication techniques to convey messages effectively and compellingly. All participants demonstrated enthusiasm in practising the techniques for structuring presentation materials and creative design.
The second segment, Creative Ramadan, served as the most dynamic space for expression, inviting participants to develop their artistic talents and innovation through simple projects organised by the committee.
The third segment, GAMELAN (Achieving a Thousand Nights), was presented as the spiritual centrepiece in commemorating Nuzulul Qur’an, conducted with great reverence. The main focus of this segment was to encourage participants to deepen their Qur’anic recitation and self-reflection so that the Qur’an truly becomes a life guide implemented in their daily lives.
At the conclusion of the event, all participants, who were orphans under Erlazet Charity’s care, were provided with shared meals and financial assistance.
Irwan Syukron, the ER Fest coordinator, expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the event. He hoped that the festival could be held on a larger scale in the future to benefit more participants.
“We extend our gratitude to all those who participated in ER Fest. We also hope that what we have organised will be beneficial to all attendees, and that we can hold this event on a larger scale in the future,” said Syukron.
