If equestrian events are held in Jakarta, the Jakarta International Equestrian Park Pulomas (JIEPP) is a likely venue, as it was used for the 2018 Asian Games and meets international standards.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Equestrian Federation (Pordasi) is in communication with the National Sports Committee (KONI) regarding the progress of the 2028 NTT-NTB National Sports Week (PON).

During the meeting, the Chairman of KONI, Lieutenant General TNI (ret.) Marciano Norman, stated that there is a possibility that sports that are not included in the Olympics will have their venues moved from NTT-NTB to another location. One of these sports is equestrian, although it is an Olympic sport, there is a possibility that it will not be held in NTT-NTB.

“The National Sports Week will be held in NTT-NTB, and we will only hold Olympic sports. In addition, we will hold DBON sports, host-country priority sports, and host-country selection sports,” said Marciano in an official statement on Thursday.

In response to this, Pordasi has prepared several options in case equestrian events cannot be held in NTT or NTB, the hosts of the 2028 PON.

The Chairman of the National Equestrian Federation, Dewi Larasati, said that the Jakarta International Equestrian Park Pulomas (JIEPP) is one of the options for the venue for equestrian events at the 2028 PON.

“If equestrian events are held in Jakarta, the Jakarta International Equestrian Park Pulomas (JIEPP) is a likely venue, as it was used for the 2018 Asian Games and meets international standards,” said the Chairman of the National Equestrian Federation, Dewi Larasati.

“For horse racing, we continue to consult with NTT and NTB regarding preparations for the PON, including the readiness of the horses and the venue. We also ensure that the horses are healthy and fit to compete,” said the Chairman of the National Horse Racing Federation, Teddy Soediro.

This meeting also discussed Pordasi’s commitment to strengthening consolidation among the four federations and implementing the schedule of national championship competitions.

Pordasi will now focus on organizing equestrian sports championships at the regional, national, and international levels. All of these have been arranged in the sports championship calendar and have been communicated with the National Sports Committee (KONI).
