Entikong Border Crossing Records 24,165 Crossings and 1,862 Tourists During Nyepi-Eid al-Fitr Holiday
The Entikong State Border Crossing (PLBN) recorded 24,165 cross-border travellers during the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday period. Although the number of crossings decreased compared to the previous year, cross-border activities and services operated normally.
Data from PLBN Entikong shows that this figure is the cumulative total of arrivals and departures for the period from 13 to 25 March 2026.
Head of PLBN Entikong, Teguh Priyadi, stated that the total crossings this year were lower than the same period in 2025, which reached 34,962 people. “Overall, the crossings of people, vehicles, and tourist visitors at PLBN Entikong during this year’s Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays were recorded as lower than last year, but we continue to maximise services,” Teguh said in his statement on Thursday (26/3/2026).
Based on crossing data, arrivals reached 13,131 people or 54 per cent of the total crossings, consisting of 1,521 foreigners and 11,610 Indonesians. Meanwhile, departures were recorded at 11,034 people or 46 per cent, with details of 893 foreigners and 10,141 Indonesians.
Teguh explained that the peak of the homecoming flow occurred on H-3 of Eid, 19 March 2026, with 2,660 people. The peak return flow took place on H+3 of Eid, 23 March 2026, with 2,406 people. “These surges are still within reasonable limits and can be handled well,” Teguh said.
All crossing activities were facilitated through synergy among Customs, Immigration, Quarantine, and Security (CIQS) personnel to ensure smooth services during the long holiday period. In addition to human movement, export activities continued, contributing state foreign exchange of Rp1,005,923,110 from agricultural and fisheries commodities.
The number of vehicles crossing was also recorded at 1,691 units, both public and private. On the other hand, the PLBN Entikong area also became a tourist destination for border communities, with a total of 1,862 visitors in the core zone and support zone during the holiday period.
“The PLBN area not only serves crossings but also becomes an attractive public space for the community to visit,” Teguh said.
Cumulatively since January to 25 March 2026, PLBN Entikong has served 129,440 travellers to and from Malaysia, reinforcing its role as Indonesia’s main gateway at the West Kalimantan border.
