Entering the final 10 nights of Ramadhan, Muslims begin I'tikaf at mosques
Entering the final ten nights of the sacred month of Ramadhan 1447 H, Muslims are performing i’tikaf, a practice of seclusion within mosques that involves intensifying worship activities such as Quran recitation, optional prayers, remembrance of God, and supplication to seek forgiveness from Allah whilst hoping to experience the blessings of the Night of Majesty, or Laylat al-Qadr. During this spiritually significant period, worshippers gather at mosques across the country, including the Grand Mosque of Baiturrahman in Semarang, Central Java, to dedicate themselves to prayer and reflection. The i’tikaf tradition represents a profound spiritual commitment, with believers focusing on deepening their connection to God during what is considered the most blessed phase of the Islamic calendar.
