Jakarta — Indonesia’s tax administration has entered a new phase with the full implementation of the Core Tax Administration System (Coretax).

Through this system, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has begun phasing out legacy platforms such as DJP Online and the desktop e-Faktur application.

This transition marks a broader digital integration in the management of tax administration, including real-time data transparency.

The deadline for submitting the 2025 Annual Income Tax Return (SPT Tahunan PPh) for corporate entities has been set for 30 April 2026. This filing will be the first to be conducted entirely through the Coretax framework.

KKP Kusumanto & Rekan views this change not merely as a system upgrade, but also as reflecting a shift in how corporations interact with the national tax administration system.

In the Coretax system, every tax transaction reported is directly connected to the DJP’s administration system.

Through this mechanism, a company’s tax data will be integrated in real-time.

When companies prepare their annual tax return, most data will already be available automatically or pre-populated based on monthly reporting activities.

This change shifts the pattern of tax administration from an annual reconciliation approach towards continuous data management.

Irwan Kusumanto, Managing Partner of KKP Kusumanto & Rekan and Head of Tax at BDO Indonesia, stated that Coretax implementation marks a fundamental change in national tax governance.

“The advent of Coretax is not merely a technical system update, but rather a fundamental restructuring of tax governance in Indonesia,” Irwan said in a written statement on Monday, 9 March 2026.

He added that real-time data validation now makes data quality an important factor for companies in fulfilling their tax obligations.
