Ensuring Aid Reaches the Right Targets, Tito and Ara Review BSPS Programme in Balikpapan

During the event, the two engaged in dialogues while checking the accuracy of data for aid recipients. During the inspection, Tito and Ara found that the aid was given to the appropriate parties. This was evident from the condition of the buildings owned and the economic capacity of the residents who met the criteria for aid recipients.

On the other hand, Tito expressed appreciation to the East Kalimantan Provincial Government (Pemprov Kaltim) and the Balikpapan City Government (Pemkot Balikpapan) for their support of the people’s housing programme. This is because both regions are committed to increasing the number of housing aids in their respective areas.

“There was a mutual cooperation scheme earlier, the regional governments are also moving. That’s good in my opinion. Regional governments that have good Regional Original Revenue (PAD) can allocate housing programmes,” Tito stated in his remarks on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

He added that there are still many people in the regions who do not have decent housing. Therefore, support from all parties is very much needed, especially from regional heads. He emphasised that such support from regional heads is one of the indicators of successful leadership in the regions.

After reviewing the preparations for the programme, Tito and Ara continued the activities by inspecting the implementation of the people’s tender simulation. The event, which took place at SMPN 13 in Balikpapan City, was enthusiastically participated in by the local community.

Furthermore, at the same event, Tito launched the BSPS programme across Kalimantan virtually from the area. The launch was officially marked by the striking of the kentongan, greeted with applause from those present. These various efforts symbolise the strong support of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) for the successful realisation of the people’s housing programme.

For information, also present at the event were the Governor of East Kalimantan Rudy Mas’ud along with the ranks of the Provincial Forkopimda of East Kalimantan, Balikpapan Mayor Rahmad Mas’ud, and other related parties.
