Enhancing Financial Literacy Among the Youth Through the One Account One Student Programme (Kejar)
SMAN 28 Jakarta witnessed the launch of the One Bank Account per Student (Kejar) 2026 programme. The initiative, spearheaded by Bank Jakarta in partnership with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), received a warm reception from students. The programme is designed to strengthen financial literacy and inclusion among the younger generation, while instilling a habit of saving from an early age.
Zahwa Azalea Reza, a Grade XI student at SMAN 28 Jakarta, voiced her enthusiasm during the Kejar DKI Jakarta kickoff, saying the programme provides fresh insights into the importance of money management at school. ‘This programme is very good because it makes us better understand the importance of saving and managing money from now on. So we can learn to be more disciplined in using money,’ Zahwa said.
Zahwa added that the education changed her view of banking. ‘Saving isn’t just about putting money in a bank. It’s more than that. There are many programmes offered by banks to customers, including me as a student,’ she said.
Musthafa Ahmad Hermana, another Grade XI student, also gave a positive assessment, noting that the interactive and enjoyable teaching method makes finance material easier for peers to understand. ‘In my opinion, this activity is very useful for students because it teaches how to manage money well and the importance of having savings for the future,’ he said.
He also praised the synergy between Bank Jakarta and OJK for taking a proactive approach directly to schools. He considered the move highly effective in bringing students closer to the banking world and financial services.
