Emotional Moment as Prabowo Kisses Forehead of Baby of Fallen TNI Soldier in Lebanon
An emotional moment and sobs from the family enveloped the arrival of the bodies of three TNI soldiers who perished while carrying out a peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, as the coffins arrived and were laid in state at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday evening.
Upon arrival at the location, the three coffins draped in the Red and White flag were immediately laid in state in the VIP room of Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, for a release ceremony and final honours given directly by President Prabowo Subianto.
There was a touching moment when President Prabowo Subianto paid respects to the three fallen TNI soldiers and shook hands with their families. Prabowo was seen kissing the head of the baby of the TNI soldier who died in the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon during the condolence procession.
Based on observations, the moment occurred when the President approached the family of the late Sergeant Major Muhammad Nur Ichwan. At that time, the wife of the late Sergeant Major Muhammad Nur Ichwan was sitting while cradling the crying baby amid the atmosphere of sorrow.
President Prabowo appeared to stroke the baby’s head before kissing it, while offering words of encouragement to the wife and mother of the soldier left behind.
Earlier, President Prabowo arrived at the VIP Building of Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta Airport around 6:40 PM WIB. The President’s arrival was welcomed by Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Foreign Minister Sugiono, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
Meanwhile, inside the hall, several high-ranking TNI officials attended the honour ceremony, such as Deputy TNI Commander General TNI Tandyo Budi Revita, Army Chief of Staff General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, Navy Chief of Staff Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali, and Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal TNI Mohamad Tonny Harjono.
President Prabowo, accompanied by Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Foreign Minister Sugiono, then shook hands one by one with representatives of the families of the three fallen TNI soldiers who were seated next to the coffins draped in the red and white flag.
Photos of the three fallen TNI soldiers were displayed complete with flower arrangements and rows of chairs prepared for the families and heirs. On each occasion, the President conveyed condolences while providing encouragement to the families left behind.
