Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has assured that electricity supply throughout Jakarta has returned to normal after experiencing disruptions on Thursday evening. “Praise be to God, everything is back on by 8:00 PM WIB,” said Senior Manager of Communication and Public Relations for PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Haris Andika, when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday. The disruptions previously occurred in several areas due to issues at multiple substations (GI). Haris stated that the power restoration process has been completed gradually. Earlier, power outages were reported at several points in Jakarta, including the Angke area and surrounding regions. PLN noted that the disruptions stemmed from the system at several substations, causing temporary halts in electricity supply to affected areas. “There was a power supply disruption in several parts of Jakarta originating from several substations,” said Haris. In response, PLN quickly mobilised to normalise the situation by deploying field personnel. “The disruption originated from the electrical system at several substations, impacting the distribution network in various areas,” Haris added. PLN also confirmed that all affected customers are now enjoying normal electricity services. Nevertheless, the company continues to monitor to anticipate any potential further disruptions. To facilitate the public in obtaining the latest information on electricity services, PLN encourages customers to use the PLN Mobile application or contact the PLN Contact Centre at 123. The power disruption also affected MRT Jakarta operations. The mass transportation service reported operational issues at several stations on Thursday afternoon at 5:57 PM WIB due to a power supply problem from PLN’s side (CSW). “This operational disruption was caused by a power supply issue from PLN’s side (CSW), resulting in some station facilities, such as lighting, elevators, escalators, and other facilities, experiencing disruptions,” said Head of Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Rendy Primartantyo, in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday. Rendy said that all elevated stations experienced a total blackout condition, but it has now been successfully normalised.
