Eid Return Traffic: Toll Road Volume Still Increasing
JAKARTA – PT Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT) is still recording an increase in traffic volume for the Eid al-Fitr 2026 return flow towards the Jabodetabek and West Java regions on Wednesday (25/3/2026). For the Jabodetabek area, the total number of returning vehicles was recorded at 173,044 units. This figure represents a 21.04 per cent increase compared to the normal traffic volume of 142,965 vehicles passing through four toll gates (GT). “The transaction traffic volume at GT Cikunir towards Jakarta experienced a significant increase, with 18,244 vehicles passing through, or an increase of 187.58 per cent compared to the normal transaction traffic of 6,344 vehicles,” said Widiyatmiko in his official statement. Meanwhile, at GT Cikupa, 48,741 vehicles were recorded passing towards Jakarta, or up 4.56 per cent from the normal traffic of 46,615 vehicles. At GT Ciawi 2, the vehicle volume reached 40,561 units, or an increase of 29.79 per cent compared to the normal condition of 31,251 vehicles. In contrast, the flow of vehicles towards Bandung and Rancaekek through the same toll gates was recorded at 67,179 vehicles, or a slight increase of 1.27 per cent compared to the normal volume of 66,336 vehicles. “A total of 42,791 vehicles were observed heading towards Jakarta or Bandung and its surroundings through GT Cileunyi. The transaction traffic volume at that GT rose by 48.92 per cent from the normal traffic of 28,734 vehicles,” said Widiyatmiko. “Meanwhile, the transaction traffic volume heading to Rancaekek, Garut, and surroundings through GT Cileunyi was recorded at 34,254 vehicles, or an increase of 5.29 per cent compared to the normal traffic of 32,533 vehicles,” he added. At GT Pasteur on the Padaleunyi Toll Road, the volume of vehicles leaving Bandung towards Jakarta was recorded at 32,071 vehicles, or an increase of 11.49 per cent from the normal condition of 28,765 vehicles. Meanwhile, the outbound flow towards Bandung was recorded at 32,925 vehicles, or a decrease of 2.60 per cent compared to the normal traffic of 33,803 vehicles.
