Eid al-Fitr in Poland: Indonesian Embassy Reminds Citizens to Comply with Local Regulations
During the occasion, the Acting Head of Indonesian Affairs (KUAI) in Warsaw, Agus Heryana, reminded the Indonesian diaspora in Poland to always comply with local regulations and be aware of consular issues while residing there. “We urge all Indonesian citizens to always obey local laws and regulations, as well as to increase vigilance against various potential consular problems,” said Agus Heryana, according to a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw received in Jakarta on Monday. The Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Ambassador’s Residence of the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw were led by Sutrisno, a doctoral student studying in Poland. Meanwhile, the approximately 200 Indonesian citizens who participated in the event are known to have backgrounds ranging from migrant workers to students. After the Eid al-Fitr prayers, the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw held a halal bihalal event, where the diaspora took the opportunity to reconnect with one another. The gathering took place in a warm and familial atmosphere, despite the very cold weather in Warsaw on Eid al-Fitr day, with air temperatures reaching 5 degrees Celsius. The Eid al-Fitr celebration at the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw, which reflects the spirit of unity and kinship among the Indonesian diaspora in Poland, is hoped to strengthen fraternal relations within the Indonesian community in that Eastern European country, according to the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw. The Muslim community in Poland, including the Indonesian diaspora in the country, celebrated Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, on 20 March 2026.
