Entering the return flow phase of Eid al-Fitr 2026, the functional lane of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road (Japek) II South has begun to be opened for vehicles returning to the Jakarta area. The opening of this lane is a precautionary measure to alleviate potential traffic density, especially on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road section, which serves as a convergence point for vehicles from Bandung and surrounding areas. Returning vehicles heading to Jakarta are now directed to use this functional lane to smooth the distribution of traffic flow. According to Kanit 3 Induk PJR Cipularang, Hari Dian Prasetyo, the Japek II South functional lane was opened from 09:25 WIB until 17:00 WIB. However, its operation is situational. β€œThe opening of the Japek 2 South functional lane begins at 09:25 until 17:00 WIB, but this opening will be situational depending on the increase in vehicle volume or changes in weather conditions, to avoid congestion on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, specifically at the convergence of Japek and Cipularang toll traffic,” said Hari Dian Prasetyo on Monday (23/3/2026). Meanwhile, information from Jasa Marga indicates that the diversion of vehicles from Bandung to Jakarta is carried out situationally according to police discretion. This policy considers the traffic density level on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, particularly at KM 66 and vehicle queues at the Kalitama Toll Gate. The Japek II South lane is opened from Sadang to Setu Burangkeng and will be used for return flow from 23 to 29 March 2026. Previously, this lane had started to be opened since Thursday, 19 March 2026. Up to Sunday, 22 March 2026, a total of 7,321 vehicles had passed through the lane.
