JAKARTA - PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) continues to optimise national fertiliser distribution amid high redemption rates of subsidised fertiliser by farmers in various regions. As of early May 2026, the realisation of subsidised fertiliser redemptions reached 3.4 million tonnes, or 36% higher than the same period in 2025. Company Secretary of Pupuk Indonesia, Yehezkiel Adiperwira, stated that the increase in redemptions is driven by government policy to lower the Highest Retail Price (HET) of subsidised fertiliser by up to 20% since October 2025. Additionally, the simplification of distribution governance through Presidential Regulation No. 113 of 2025 has made access to subsidised fertiliser easier for farmers and smoother distribution. The high redemption rate is also influenced by prolonged rainfall in several regions. “The increase in redemptions shows very high enthusiasm from farmers, especially after the reduction in the HET of subsidised fertiliser and the simplification of distribution governance. Therefore, we continue to ensure that fertiliser distribution runs optimally so that farmers’ needs can be met quickly and accurately according to field requirements,” said Yehezkiel in an official statement on Friday (15/5/2026). Yehezkiel explained that to maintain smooth distribution and ensure stock remains available in every region, Pupuk Indonesia utilises the Command Centre and i-Pubers to monitor redemption levels and stock conditions in real-time down to the delivery points. This digital system enables the company to identify areas with high demand and perform reconfiguration (reallocation) of stock quickly without waiting for manual reports. “Through the Command Centre and the i-Pubers system, we can monitor stock conditions in real-time down to the kiosk level. This system allows for faster distribution responses if there are areas with high fertiliser needs,” he added. This infrastructure support enables faster stock transfers between regions to maintain fertiliser availability in areas with high redemption rates. In addition to strengthening the distribution system, Pupuk Indonesia continues to coordinate with local governments, distributors, and kiosks to ensure fertiliser distribution proceeds according to regulations and farmers’ needs. “Pupuk Indonesia assesses that the combination of government policies and strengthening of digital-based distribution systems is a key factor in maintaining the stability of national fertiliser supply amid the high redemption rate of subsidised fertiliser this year,” he concluded.
