Jakarta — The Ministry of Religion has announced that School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds for madrasahs and Operational Assistance for Raudhatul Athfal early education centres (RA) totalling 4.5 trillion rupiah can now be disbursed progressively from 9 March 2026. These funds may be utilised to pay salaries for non-civil service teachers and honorary educators without professional certification.

Amien Suyitno, Director-General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religion, stated that this policy represents an affirmative government measure to support the welfare of educators at private Islamic schools.

“Effective today, RA and madrasah institutions that have completed administrative requirements can receive BOP and BOS funds. This process will continue progressively until all recipient institutions receive their allocations,” said Amien Suyitno on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

“Improving educator welfare extends beyond the Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG). BOS funds can also be utilised to assist non-civil service teacher compensation, particularly those who have not yet undertaken teacher professional education (PPG),” he added.

In the first phase of the 2026 fiscal year, the government is disbursing a total of 4.5 trillion rupiah to over 83,000 educational institutions nationwide. This comprises 4.1 trillion rupiah in private madrasah BOS for approximately 52,000 madrasahs and 428 billion rupiah in RA operational assistance for approximately 31,000 early learning centres.

BOS Madrasah and RA operational funds are transferred directly to institutional accounts for immediate utilisation. According to officials, this disbursement reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring Islamic educational institution operations proceed smoothly, particularly ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Nyayu Khodijah, Director of Curriculum, Facilities, Institutional Affairs and Student Services for Madrasahs, stated that coordination with distributing banks is underway to ensure smooth fund disbursement. All madrasahs and RA institutions that have uploaded required documentation through the DMRKAM system can immediately withdraw funds from distributing banks.

For institutions still uploading data, the Ministry of Religion has extended deadlines to allow the disbursement process to proceed in parallel.

“Hopefully, BOS funds for the first semester can be disbursed before Eid al-Fitr so madrasahs can utilise them optimally,” stated Nyayu.

Nyayu added that BOS fund usage must comply with applicable regulations. A maximum of 60 per cent of total BOS funds can be allocated for teacher compensation, with the remainder designated for operational requirements and improving educational quality in madrasahs.
