East Java swimmers win c'ships

JAKARTA (JP): East Java dominated the inter-club swimming
championships by winning both the senior and junior titles in
Semarang Sunday.

The Hiu club from Surabaya won the senior title by capturing
eight golds, seven silvers and eight bronzes while the Suryanaga
club, also from Surabaya, won the junior title by taking five
golds, seven silvers and three bronzes, Antara reported.

Hiu Surabaya also took the best swimmers titles in the men's
and women's division through Hanny Dwi Prasetyo and Yuliana
Djuanto. Hanny grabbed five golds, two silvers and one bronze
while Yuliana took four golds and two silvers.

The Bina Taruna club from Purwokerto, Central Java won second
place in the senior competition with five golds, eight silvers
and four bronzes. The Kuda Laut club from Jakarta came third with
four golds, three silvers and two bronzes.

Hiu Surabaya won second place in the junior title with eight
golds, six silvers and two bronzes. The Aquarius club from
Bandung took third place with five golds, three silvers and five
bronzes.

The inter-club swimming championships began Friday and ended
Sunday. About 800 swimmers from 68 clubs and 18 provinces took
