East Java Police distribute 149 sacrificial animals to the public
In addition to distributing sacrificial animals, East Java Police also slaughtered 10 cows outside the Arif Nurul Huda Mosque at Polda Jatim to distribute the meat as part of the Eid al-Adha sacrifice to police personnel and the local community. East Java Police distributed a total of 149 sacrificial animals to Islamic boarding schools, orphanage foundations, mosques, and prayer rooms across East Java during the celebration of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah. ‘The observance of Eid al-Adha is part of efforts to foster mental and spiritual development, enhance faith, piety, self-sacrifice, and social concern to achieve Polri Presisi,’ said East Java Police Eid al-Adha Committee Chairman Senior Commissioner of Police Sih Harno in Surabaya on Wednesday. He noted the high enthusiasm among the East Java Police family for this year’s sacrifice, evidenced by the 149 animals received by the committee, comprising 127 cows and 22 goats. He added that all sacrificial animals had been distributed gradually to the public and various institutions in need within the jurisdiction of East Java Police. On 25-26 May 2026, the committee distributed dozens of cows and goats to Islamic boarding schools, orphanages, police dormitories, police partners, mosques, and prayer rooms. Sih Harno said the Eid al-Adha occasion is not only about the ritual of sacrifice but also a demonstration of social concern and the police’s presence in the community. ‘Through this Eid al-Adha occasion, we hope that the values of togetherness, sincerity, and social concern become stronger, so that the police can continue to be present and benefit the community,’ said Sih Harno.
