Early Morning Rain Leaves 31 Neighbourhood Units in Jakarta Flooded
Heavy rain that lashed the DKI Jakarta region and its surroundings since the early hours of Friday (20 February) caused flooding at several points across the capital.
The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded 31 neighbourhood units (RT) as being inundated.
The data was compiled by the DKI BPBD as of 05.00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) on Friday, 20 February 2026. The affected areas were in South Jakarta, where flooding resulted from heavy rain and the overflowing of the Krukut River and the PHB Nipam River.
Three neighbourhood units in Cipete Utara were flooded to a depth of 70 centimetres, whilst 28 neighbourhood units in Petogogan were inundated to a depth of 20 centimetres.
Meanwhile, according to data as of 06.00 WIB published on the BPBD DKI website, five monitoring stations reported water levels in the alert category (Siaga 3), and one monitoring station was in the warning category (Siaga 2).
The five Siaga 3 monitoring stations were: Katulampa Weir (90 cm), Karet Floodgate (520 cm), Krukut Hulu Monitoring Post (160 cm), Pesanggrahan Post (200 cm), and Pasar Ikan-Laut (192 cm).
The station in the Siaga 2 category was the Angke Hulu Post (270 cm).
At the Katulampa Weir in the city of Bogor, West Java, the water level as of 06.00 reached 90 centimetres. According to the graph on the BPBD DKI website, the water level at the Katulampa Weir gate had been rising steadily since 01.00 WIB in the early morning.
