E. Timor to build more houses
DILI, East Timor: The provincial administration here is
striving to complete the construction of 1,500 low-cost houses
for its civil servants, Antara reported.
Spokesman Rajakarina Brahmana said that, so far, only 125
houses have been completed. Most of the houses will be provided
to civil servants residing in the three regencies of Dili,
Liquisa and Ermera.
Brahmana said the second stage of the administration's plan to
provide low-cost houses for civil servants in the other 10
regencies will start after all of the 1,500 houses have been
finished.
"We need to carry out the plan in stages because of the
limited funds of the developers appointed for the project," he
said.
There are currently 13,000 civil servants in East Timor. (swe)
