Dubai Airport Begins Limited Flight Operations After Impact of US-Iran Conflict
Limited flight operations at Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), commenced this evening. Flights in Dubai had previously been suspended due to escalating tensions in the Middle East following military operations by the United States and Israel against Iran.
According to news agency AFP, on Monday 2 March 2026, limited flight operations will resume this evening local time. Dubai flights had been suspended for three days since the conflict erupted in the Middle East.
“Dubai Airports announced the resumption of limited flight operations from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) beginning this evening, Monday, 2 March 2026,” stated Dubai Airports.
Previously on Saturday 28 February, Dubai’s government news office announced through its official X account that flights in Dubai were affected. All flights in Dubai were suspended at that time.
“Dubai Airports confirmed that all flight operations at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International (DWC) are suspended until further notice,” wrote the Dubai government news office.
At that time, all passengers were advised against travelling to the airport given the tense situation unfolding.
“Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport at this time and to contact their respective airlines directly for the latest information regarding their flights,” it stated.
The US and Israel launched large-scale military operations on Saturday 28 February. They targeted command and control facilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), ballistic missile launch sites and drone facilities, military airfields, and Iran’s air defence systems.
The US and Israeli attacks killed several senior Iranian officials, including Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
A series of explosions also rattled several Arab Gulf countries hosting US military bases on Saturday 28 February local time. These included Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait, all reporting explosions following the US and Israeli strike against Iran.
