Commission IV of the West Java Provincial DPRD provided several strategic notes on the performance of its working partners during discussions on the Governor’s 2025 Accountability Report in the Cirebon region.

The working partners under scrutiny include the Cirebon Region VI Road and Bridge Management UPTD, the Public Works and Spatial Planning Department (BMPR), the Cimanuk-Cisanggarung River Basin Water Resources Management UPTD, the Cirebon Region IV Traffic and Road Transport Management UPTD, and the Transportation Department.

According to the Secretary of Commission IV of the West Java DPRD, Ahab Sihabudin, in the road infrastructure sector, the road stability rate in West Java has reached 95 per cent. Nevertheless, they emphasised the importance of increasing the intensity of maintenance to keep road quality intact and prevent functional decline.

“Maintenance must be carried out consistently and periodically so that this good road condition can be maintained,” he said on Thursday (9 April 2026).

In the transportation sector, the installation of Public Street Lighting (PJU) has achieved 100 per cent realisation. However, Commission IV identified several field challenges, such as points of PJU that are still not connected to electricity.

Additionally, dual PJU installations were found, which could lead to budgetary inefficiencies, particularly in electricity financing. “This issue must be addressed immediately to avoid burdening future budgets,” Ahab stated.

Meanwhile, in the water resources sector, Commission IV spotlighted the problem of overlapping asset recording between district/city governments, provincial, and central governments. This condition is seen as potentially hindering the optimisation of water resource management.

On the other hand, Commission IV is pushing for increased budget allocation to strengthen food security programmes, especially those related to irrigation infrastructure.

As follow-up actions, Commission IV of the West Java DPRD recommends enhancing periodic road maintenance, resolving dual PJU issues, and organising assets along with strengthening budgets in the water resources sector.

While providing several notes, Commission IV of the West Java DPRD still appreciates the performance of its working partners, which is generally deemed quite good and shows positive achievements.
