Drug Trafficker Koko Erwin, Who Allegedly Bribed Former Bima Police Chief, Arrested
The Narcotics Crime Directorate (Dittipidnarkoba) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim Polri) has confirmed the arrest of suspected drug trafficker Erwin alias Koko Erwin, who was listed as a fugitive on the wanted persons list (DPO).
Erwin is the suspected drug trafficker sought on allegations of offering Rp1 billion in bribes to former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro.
“It is correct that fugitive Erwin has been arrested by the Joint Team from Sub-directorate IV and the NIC Task Force of Dittipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri,” stated Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crime of Bareskrim Polri, in Jakarta on Friday.
However, regarding detailed information concerning the arrest, Eko stated it would be conveyed during a press conference.
Separately, Kombes Pol. Kevin Leleury, Commander of the NIC Task Force of Dittipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri, stated that Erwin was arrested in Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra whilst attempting to cross into Malaysia on Thursday (26 February).
During the arrest operation, officers also detained two other suspected perpetrators, identified as A alias Y and R alias K.
According to Kevin, both individuals assisted Erwin in fleeing to Malaysia to evade arrest by police officers. “Perpetrator A alias Y was arrested in Riau whilst R alias K was arrested in Tanjung Balai along with Erwin,” he stated.
