Drug Case Disclosures Rise 25%, Dozens of Suspects Apprehended
Polda Jambi continues to demonstrate its commitment to combating narcotics trafficking in Jambi Province. In the first two months of 2026, the Directorate of Narcotics Crime (Ditresnarkoba) and its personnel successfully uncovered 204 drug cases, a 25 percent increase from the 153 cases recorded during the same period in 2025.
“When comparing the total number of cases last year to the corresponding period this year (2026), from 1 January to 28 February, there has been an increase of fifty-one cases, representing an increase of approximately twenty-five percent,” said Director of Narcotics Crime at Polda Jambi, Senior Commissioner Dewa Made Palguna, on Wednesday (11 March).
Beyond the rise in case numbers, the volume of suspects successfully apprehended has also shown a significant increase. According to data from Ditresnarkoba Polda Jambi, the number of apprehended suspects rose by 87 individuals, or approximately 29.19 percent, compared with the same period in 2025.
Dewa Made Palguna explained that all these disclosures are the result of hard work by Ditresnarkoba Polda Jambi, working alongside the Narcotics Crime Task Forces (Satresnarkoba) of subordinate police stations and city police who have been conducting intensive narcotics suppression operations across various areas in Jambi Province.
“Throughout January and February 2026, personnel have intensified narcotics suppression operations. This increase in the number of suspects demonstrates that narcotics network activity remains quite active. However, it also reflects the increasingly aggressive intensity of enforcement actions by law enforcement,” he explained.
Polda Jambi is committed to continuing to tighten narcotics suppression efforts through strengthened enforcement operations, mapping of narcotics trafficking networks, and cooperation with the community to uncover activities suspected of being related to narcotics trafficking.
Inspector General Krisno H Siregar, Head of Jambi Regional Police, through Public Relations Division Chief Senior Commissioner Erlan Munaji, emphasised that narcotics suppression is a serious commitment by Polda Jambi to protect the community from the dangers of narcotics that can harm the future of the younger generation.
“Polda Jambi and its personnel continue to increase efforts to suppress narcotics trafficking firmly and sustainably. This is a manifestation of our commitment in maintaining security and protecting the community, particularly the younger generation, from the threat of drugs,” he stated.
The Public Relations Division also invited the community to play an active role in assisting the police in combating narcotics trafficking by providing information should they discover suspicious activities.
