Driver's license

Driver's license

From Neraca

It seems to me that it is better for people to renew their
driver's license in the Jakarta Police Office by themselves
rather than through the service of a middle man. Here I would
like to share my experience in this business.

The first thing I did upon arrival was to obtain the health
certificate, which cost me Rp 3,000 (official price). Then I
collected the form to be filled in and paid in the bank an amount
of Rp 52,500. For the insurance it cost me Rp 5,500 (official
premium Rp 5,000). I had to pay Rp 10,000 (without receipt) as a
substitute for my resident card. I live in Tangerang, so I have a
Tangerang resident card which does not belong to the jurisdiction
of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

I paid Rp 2,000 for the photo (no receipt). Then I just had to
wait for the result. Altogether I spent Rp 73,000 for the
document I needed. This is much less than the cost of obtaining
the driver's license by virtue of a middleman. It is true that I
got very tired afterwards and somewhat depressed because I had to
move from one section to another a number of times.

I was satisfied as I got my driver's license at the end of the
day.
