It seems to me that it is better for people to renew their
\ndriver's license in the Jakarta Police Office by themselves
\nrather than through the service of a middle man. Here I would
\nlike to share my experience in this business.<\/p>\n
The first thing I did upon arrival was to obtain the health
\ncertificate, which cost me Rp 3,000 (official price). Then I
\ncollected the form to be filled in and paid in the bank an amount
\nof Rp 52,500. For the insurance it cost me Rp 5,500 (official
\npremium Rp 5,000). I had to pay Rp 10,000 (without receipt) as a
\nsubstitute for my resident card. I live in Tangerang, so I have a
\nTangerang resident card which does not belong to the jurisdiction
\nof the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.<\/p>\n
I paid Rp 2,000 for the photo (no receipt). Then I just had to
\nwait for the result. Altogether I spent Rp 73,000 for the
\ndocument I needed. This is much less than the cost of obtaining
\nthe driver's license by virtue of a middleman. It is true that I
\ngot very tired afterwards and somewhat depressed because I had to
\nmove from one section to another a number of times.<\/p>\n
I was satisfied as I got my driver's license at the end of the
\nday.<\/p>\n
