JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The results of the urine test for HM (25), the driver of the black Toyota Calya who drove against traffic and grazed several vehicles in Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (25/2/2026) have been released.
The Head of Traffic at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Arry Setyo Utomo, said that the urine test was conducted on Wednesday evening.
“The results of the urine test (for the driver) were negative,” Arry said when confirmed by Kompas.com, Thursday (26/2/2026).
According to Arry, the victim suffered bruises on his arm.
“There were no additional victims,” he added.
Previously, the Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Pol Reynold Hutagalung, said that the driver of the Toyota Calya underwent a urine test at the Central Jakarta Metro Police headquarters on Wednesday evening.
According to Reynold, the urine test was conducted after the driver, HM, was brought to the police station.
“We conducted a check, specifically a urine test and a health check, on the driver,” he said.
“To see if there were any indications that he was using prohibited substances or substances that could cause him to drive recklessly or negligently,” Reynold explained.
Based on a video uploaded to the Instagram account @lintasjakartaupdate, the car was seen speeding while driving against traffic in the middle of heavy traffic.
While driving, the vehicle grazed several cars and motorcycles before finally stopping after being chased by residents and police officers.
The Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Pol Reynold Hutagalung, said that the car was driven by a man from Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, with the initials HM (25). There was one female passenger in the car.
Reynold explained that the police initially tried to stop the car at around 5:00 PM.
“The car with license plate number D-1640-AHB was suspected of using a fake license plate, so it was stopped by two traffic police officers,” Reynold told reporters at the Tanah Abang Police Station on Wednesday evening.
However, HM panicked and fled. He drove into Gunung Sahari Street and drove against traffic from south to north on Bungur Besar Street.
Next, the vehicle turned around and headed back to the MBAL intersection and turned left again on the opposite lane on Gunung Sahari Street.
