A woman identified by the initials HP (35) crashed into the fence of the residence belonging to the 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK), in the Kebayoran Baru area of South Jakarta. The driver has been required to pay approximately Rp 25 million in damages.

“The provisional sum for repairs is approximately Rp 25 million,” said South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Section Head AKBP Murodih on Thursday (19/2/2026).

JK’s residence, which was struck, is located on Jalan Brawijaya IV, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Murodih said the party responsible for the collision and a representative of the property owner had already conducted mediation on Wednesday (18/2).

The mediation resulted in an agreement for the driver to cover the cost of damages. The collision incident was resolved amicably and will not proceed to legal action.

“The outcome is that the party responsible for the collision wishes to repair the existing damage at the location,” he said.

With the compensation agreement in place, the case has been closed as mediation was conducted and the affected party did not file a police report.

The Hyundai Santa Fe SUV struck the residential fence on Wednesday (18/2) morning at approximately 03.30 Western Indonesian Time. Driver HP was travelling from the direction of Kemang and was heading home to Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

Police confirmed there were no injuries or fatalities resulting from the accident.

Driver Suspected of Drowsy Driving

HP had requested that the collision incident be resolved through mediation. Police said HP was suspected of being drowsy at the time, causing her vehicle to crash into JK’s fence.

“The driver was probably drowsy, so she lost control,” said AKBP Murodih on Wednesday (18/2).

Murodih explained that the accident occurred at approximately 03.45 Western Indonesian Time. He said the driver was heading home at the time.

“Yes, the incident happened this morning at dawn, around 03.45 WIB if I’m not mistaken. Yes, she was planning to return home. What is clear is that the person who caused the crash lives in Jagakarsa,” Murodih explained.
