Jakarta – A member of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Rajiv, distributed 30,000 basic food packages to the public during Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/2026. The aid was distributed in several districts of Bandung Regency and Bandung Barat Regency, West Java, and was accompanied by Bandung Police Resort’s Deputy Chief AKBP Putu Hendra Binangkari. ‘I will present keepsakes in the form of basic food packages; hopefully this can help ease the burden on residents in Ciparay Subdistrict. May it be useful in the Ramadan atmosphere,’ Rajiv said in a statement on Thursday, 5 March 2026. In addition to distributing basic food packages, the NasDem Party legislator said it is important to maintain supply stability and food prices ahead of Lebaran. He noted that during Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr there is usually increased demand for staples such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, meat, and eggs. ‘Therefore, I urge regional governments and relevant agencies to ensure the distribution runs smoothly so that prices do not spike and burden the people,’ he said. As a member of Commission IV which covers agriculture, fisheries, and food, Rajiv will continue to monitor the availability of food in his electoral district. He hopes local agricultural production can be a main pillar in meeting people’s needs, especially as demand rises. ‘I was entrusted by the people in Bandung and Bandung Barat districts, and I will continue to monitor food availability here. I will gather the aspirations of the people to be conveyed to Jakarta (DPR RI),’ he added. Additionally, Rajiv noted that during his one year in office he has delivered a number of programs to the community, ranging from the Indonesia Pintar (PIP) program, aid for farming tools and machinery (alsintan), cultivators, seed aid, and the bioflok fish farming program. Therefore, he reminded farmer groups receiving assistance not to resell the aid. He said the aid is to support farming in West Java so that it advances and develops in the future. ‘I remind the farmer groups receiving aid not to resell it. It is for the community, for farmers so that farming in Ciparay can advance and develop,’ he asserted.
