DPD Member Demands Firm Action on Assault Case Against SPPG Head in West Java
Banda Aceh - A member of the DPD RI from Aceh, Azhari Cage, has urged the police to take firm action in the case of the assault on an Acehnese resident serving as the Head of SPPG Rajamandala Kulon 2 in Cipatat, West Bandung, West Java.
“We ask the security apparatus to take firm action against the perpetrators of violence against an Acehnese resident who is the Head of SPPG in Cipatat. Such cases must not recur in the future,” said Azhari Cage in his statement in Banda Aceh on Monday.
He conveyed that the alleged act of violence, in the form of assault and mobbing, occurred against an Acehnese resident named Muhammad Khatami Maulana, who serves as the Head of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) Rajamandala Kulon 2 in Cipatat, West Java, on Saturday (2/5) around 8:45 PM WIB.
Based on the information he received, said Azhari, the incident took place in the kitchen area where the victim works, while the victim was at the location with a kitchen person in charge (PIC) from the partner side.
The initially normal situation turned into an act of violence when two men who arrived in a four-wheeled vehicle suddenly carried out an attack.
The victim, who did not know the issue regarding the perpetrators’ arrival, became the target of violence after the perpetrators failed to find the intended party.
“Even though the victim had tried to explain that he was not involved in the existing problem, the perpetrators still carried out the violent act,” he said.
As a result of the incident, continued Azhari, the victim suffered physical injuries, especially to the head, and has received medical treatment.
This incident raises concerns about the safety of workers and the importance of legal protection in the work environment.
The incident has been reported to the local police station. Therefore, it is hoped that law enforcement officials can handle this case professionally, transparently, and accountably, as well as provide maximum protection to the victim.
“We condemn all forms of violence and urge that the legal process runs fairly without discrimination,” Azhari stressed.
