Dozens of Local Regulation Violators Face Trial in West Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - West Jakarta’s Satpol PP held a justice trial for 50 violators of minor criminal offences (Tipiring) at the local mayor’s office on Tuesday. “These 50 people violated Local Regulation No. 8 of 2007 on public order,” said Head of West Jakarta Satpol PP, Herry Purnama, when contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday. In more detail, he mentioned that there were six types of order violations charged against the offenders. “Namely, 32 people violating order for business premises and specific businesses, six people violating order for community participation, and four people violating building order,” Herry stated. Then, three people who violated road order, road transport, and transport. Meanwhile, three people were charged with violating social order, and the remaining two violated environmental order. Herry explained that from the trial process, the judge ruled based on evidence and facts in the trial that all defendants were legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing criminal acts of violations in accordance with the articles violated in Local Regulation No. 8 of 2007 on public order. He mentioned that the judge imposed fines on the violators ranging from Rp500,000 to Rp10 million. Each violator was also charged court costs of Rp5,000. “Total violation fines over Rp68 million and court costs Rp250,000. This year, we plan to hold three Tipiring justice trials,” Herry added.
