Dossier of Oki to be submitted

JAKARTA (JP): Head of Jakarta Prosecutor's Office, Suyoto, said on Monday that the dossiers regarding a passport forgery allegedly committed by Harnoko Dewantono, alias Oki, would be handed over to South Jakarta District Court this week.

Suyoto said that 10 people would testify in the trial, including several immigration officers.

Last month Suyoto appointed prosecutor Abdul Muis Gasing to handle the prosecution of Oki for passport forgery.

Thirty-year old Oki, who was arrested by the police on Feb. 7, is also wanted by the Los Angeles Police Department in connection with the murder of his younger brother, Eri Tri Harto Darmawan, an Indonesian woman, Gina Sutan Aswar, and an Indian businessman, Suresh Mirchandani.

Police sources say Oki forged the passports mainly as a means of obtaining duty reductions on his belongings when he returned to Indonesia from California.

Oki allegedly used a passport belonging to Eri, identified as a student, and replaced the photograph with one of his own

Oki is suspected to having at least six passports with six different names.

Suyoto said there was a possibility that the prosecutor's office would summons a number of expert witnesses to testify, including the director general of immigration. (mas)
