Jakarta, Kabar SDGs – PT Era Media Sejahtera TPK (DOOH) has begun directing its business development strategy towards the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure sector in Indonesia. The company, which has traditionally operated in advertising services, identifies significant opportunities arising from the growing demand for AI-supporting infrastructure in the coming years.

To implement this new strategy, the company is preparing five interconnected business areas: AI Data Centres, high-speed internet, fibre optics, submarine cables, and green energy, specifically Solar Power Plants (PLTS).

The President Director of PT Era Media Sejahtera Tbk, Vicktor Aritonang, stated that the decision to expand into this sector is based on the vast market potential for AI infrastructure in Indonesia.

“We see a very large market potential in Indonesia, so it would be a great shame if we did not respond to that potential,” Vicktor said during the DOOH Incidental Public Expose on Friday (4/9/2026).

According to Vicktor, the company has conducted an assessment of national data centre requirements. The findings indicate a significant potential increase in demand over the next few years. This condition serves as a primary basis for DOOH to expand its business activities into infrastructure sectors that support AI technological development.

The five areas prepared by DOOH are designed to function as an integrated ecosystem. AI Data Centres, high-speed internet, fibre optics, submarine cables, and green energy/PLTS are expected to support one another in meeting the digital infrastructure and energy needs required for AI advancement.

The company perceives this opportunity to be growing because current infrastructure availability is deemed insufficient to match the potential growth in demand.

“The supply can be described as lacking, while demand in this segment will be very high. Therefore, it is only natural that we see this as a very significant potential,” explained Vickly.

In an effort to accelerate the development of this ecosystem, DOOH is also considering the possibility of acquiring companies that already operate in one or several of the company’s focus areas. Such a move is considered capable of accelerating the expansion process compared to building all new business lines independently from the ground up.

Despite entering a new sector, DOOH ensures that its existing business activities will be maintained. The company’s core business will continue alongside the development of businesses related to AI infrastructure.

“We will not set aside our previous business activities; both will continue to operate,” he said.

To realise this expansion, the company also needs to prepare funding sources, as building AI infrastructure requires substantial investment. During the Incidental Public Expose, several funding options were discussed, ranging from new share issuances and debt financing to strategic partnerships such as joint ventures.

Vicktor stated that DOOH is still evaluating several alternative corporate actions to support its business development plans. One option under consideration is equity-based funding through a rights issue.

“The company is considering corporate action options to meet its development plans. These actions are being discussed, including several funding options, one of which is equity-based funding such as a rights issue,” said Vicktor.

However, no final decision has been made regarding the specific form of corporate action to be undertaken. Management is still conducting discussions with various parties to secure a funding scheme that is deemed most appropriate and optimal for the company’s expansion needs.

This plan has also drawn the attention of investors due to the high level of investment required to build an AI infrastructure business. With the company’s current assets at approximately Rp406 billion, a new share issuance through a rights issue, if chosen, could potentially dilute the ownership of shareholders who do not exercise their rights to purchase the new shares.

Nevertheless, management has not yet confirmed that a rights issue will be the final choice for the corporate action. DOOH is still evaluating various available alternatives before making a decision.

“To reiterate, the company is currently in discussions with various parties regarding the most optimal corporate action. The company is committed to maintaining information transparency in accordance with applicable regulations,” he emphasised.

This strategic shift is part of a new direction for DOOH following the entry of PT Sinergi International Investama (SII) as the new controlling shareholder. With this developmental direction, the company is increasing its focus on the digital infrastructure and energy sectors, which are viewed as having a vital position in building the AI ecosystem in Indonesia.
